"My Endearing Home" Photography Competition + NJC Photog Seminar
"My Endearing Home" Photography Competition The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is holding a photography competition based on the theme of "My Endearing Home". This photography competition is held as a fringe event to our My Endearing Home Exhibition, which will be exhibited at seven popular shopping malls across Singapore from May to August 2009. The My Endearing Home photography competition is open to members of public.
There are two competition categories, the "My Home" category and the "My Heritage" category:
"My Home" Category (The top three prizes range from $300 to $600)
Starting date of submission: 16 May 09
Closing date of submission: 21 June 09
"My Heritage" Category (The top three prizes range from $800 to $2,000)
Starting date of submission: 16 May 09
Closing date of submission: 16 July 09
The competition was recently launched by the Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan at the opening of the My Endearing Home exhibition on 16 May 2009 in Marina Square.

Indeed, we will be having a seminar, which is a follow-up to the competition that we had earlier last month. As such, we are cordially inviting all photographic enthusiasts from your institution to attend SNAP! - A Nationwide Photography Seminar organized by National Junior College (NJC).
The seminar will be held on Saturday, 6th June 2009, at Ngee Ann Kongsi Performing Arts Theatre in NJC from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. The seminar offers aspiring photographers with the opportunity to explore various genres of photography, and to appreciate the different aspects of it.
We have invited 3 renowned photographers, Edward Chong, Raymond Chua and Chua Kheng How to be speakers at our seminar, with each speaker touching on topics like Nature Photography, Flash Photography and Techniques on Enhancing Images with Photoshop respectively.
Additionally, there will be a prize presentation for winners of the SNAP! Competition, all of whom will stand to receive attractive prizes sponsored by Nikon. Our exhibition, in conjunction with the seminar, will also be occurring on the same day in NJC. The exhibition will showcase 29 winning entries from the SNAP! Competition.

In contrast with traditional deep brooding themes, this year NUSPS invites everyone to explore the power of this medium in a whole new way through the lively theme.
